Mekong - Richmond, VA

We were brought to Mekong by our friend, blast beat master drummer Dave Witte. Dave is a true beer and food lover and always takes us to his favorite spots in town. He's never disappointed me and today was no exception.


Started off with veggie spring rolls. I'd say they were the usual. Pretty good, nice and hot when they came out.


My spicy tofu curry was awesome though! It had peanuts drizzles on top and came with brown rice instead of the typical steamed white or jasmine rice. It seemed like a lot of food as first but it was the perfect amount. I was definitely satisfied. Consistency of the tofu was on point.


A few side notes: Mekong offers what they call a "superbowl" of phó. You can see it pictured above. Andrew was crazy enough to try and house that thing, and he almost finished. Mekong also has a crazy variety of great beers and hosts different beer events in town.
